Clinical Practices: My master’s degree is in Marriage and Family Therapy and for the past 15 years I have been in private practice using hypnotherapy to release and heal limiting feelings and beliefs by connecting clients to their own higher guidance. I use the modalities of present life regression therapy, past life regression therapy and life-between-lives spiritual regression hypnotherapy. Clients arrive feeling stuck in anxiety, shame, depression, or any limiting feeling or belief, and typically leave feeling much freer, and able to experience who they really are with more clarity. When traumatic events lead to pain, it can be especially difficult to resolve that pain without processing the incident that caused it. Even if there was not a specific trigger, chronic pain often brings with it grief, anxiety, depression, and anger that all exacerbate the impact of that pain.
I specialize in helping people whose stress and trauma affects their chronic pain learn how to effectively process emotions and past trauma in order to reduce pain and emotional distress.
I do this using techniques with proven effectiveness treating chronic pain and trauma, including clinical hypnosis, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Prolonged Exposure therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Additionally, as a mom of three autistic kids and someone who identifies as a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP), I also understand how living in a world that is not set up for you can set the stage for anxiety and trauma that often finds itself playing out in the form of physical issues. I help adults learn to navigate their own needs as neurodivergent individuals and heal from trauma that has occurred, at least in part, by living in a world that does not respect and honor their differences.
I conduct all sessions via telehealth during the COVID-19 pandemic, and in ordinary times I see people in person in my office in St. Paul and via telehealth throughout Minnesota. The easiest way to begin working with me is to go to my website, www.erinbdlicsw.com, and reserve a time for a free 15-minute phone consultation.
Now for my qualifications… I have been in practice for over 10 years. I have the following degrees: Master of Social Work from University of St. Thomas/St. Catherine’s University School of Social Work; Master of Arts from Yale University; Bachelor of Arts from Grinnell College.
I hold the following certifications: Diplomate of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy; Certified in Clinical Hypnosis by the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis; Certified in Prolonged Exposure Therapy by the Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety.
I have given presentations on chronic pain and trauma at the Autism Society of Minnesota annual conference, National Association of Social Workers Minnesota State Conference, HealthEast Spine Symposium, and the Minnesota Holistic Medicine Group.
I look forward to hearing from you!

Catherine joined Newbridge in 2014, after working at Riverside Family Physicians for 21 years and Fairview Clinic Riverside for 4 years. She works to understand the “why” behind the symptoms and addresses the underlying problems. She finds it interesting, challenging, and gratifying to support healing in this way.
Catherine recognizes that good health depends on one’s physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well being. Through her practice, she discusses and supports each area to bring her patients full health and healing. Her special areas of interest include deeply listening to each person’s story, mental health challenges–especially depression and anxiety, and gut health.
Dr. Dolan’s educational background includes a BS in Chemistry from Mundelein College in Chicago, MD from University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, family Practice residency at the University of Minnesota- Fairview-St Mary’s, and then she became Board certified in Family Medicine. So much more learning came from listening to and learning from patients over the years, working with many excellent colleagues, and regular conferences on Holistic/Integrative Medicine. She is a member of the Minnesota Holistic Medical Group, the ILADS (International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society) and the Institute for Functional Medicine.
In addition to work, she enjoys time with her husband, children and grandchildren, extended family and friends. She practices mindfulness and deepening her spiritual life, yoga, gardening and is especially enjoying her first season tickets to watch the Minnesota Gophers Women Basketball team!
