Dr. Carolyn Bowles, MD, FACP, ABIHM, attended Simmons College where she majored in Physical Therapy. She then attended Boston University Medical School and graduated cum laude and was in the AOA honor society. Her Internal Medicine residency was completed at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY and she went on to complete a fellowship in Rheumatology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. She was on staff at Mayo for 8 years and then moved to Minneapolis and has worked in various Rheumatology settings since then. About 10 years ago, she developed a passion for Functional Medicine and other Integrative approaches to health and wellness when she felt that a number patient’s needs were not being met by standard approaches.

Dr. Bowles has studied Functional Medicine, Acupuncture, Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) therapy and more recently has been interested in genetics and epigenetic influences on genes. She is certified in the Bredesen Protocol (only 500 doctors are currently trained in this) and, also, works with Muses Labs for treatment of subjective cognitive impairment, mild cognitive impairment, and prevention of Alzheimer’s Disease. She is using this cumulative knowledge to help patients develop treatment approaches to their autoimmune and neurodegenerative conditions as well as health and wellness.

Newbridge Health & Wellness’ mission is to provide the highest quality healthcare using a personalized, holistic, natural and functional medicine approach in order to promote optimal health and healing for infants, children, and adults in a caring and supportive manner.

Our vision is that holistic, integrative, biomedical, and functional medicine will be available and accessible to all, regardless of income, ethnicity, or education level, and that patients will be optimally supported in making healthy lifestyle changes. We value helping and caring, patient and family-centered progressive care, integrity, respect, and teamwork.

Newbridge Health & Wellness’ practitioners have received advanced training through the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM), MN Holistic Medicine Group, the Autism Research Institute (ARI), the Medical Academy of Pediatric Special Needs (MAPS), International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS) and many other sources, and incorporate a variety of integrative approaches for managing the unique and varying underlying health issues of each individual.

We also offer elimination diets and/or testing to help uncover food sensitivities and counsel you on the dietary changes necessary to treat many chronic health conditions. This testing and dietary protocol have been extremely effective in helping those with ADHD, Autism, IBS, chronic diarrhea, heartburn/GERD, fibromyalgia, arthritis, joint pain, mental health concerns, muscle pain, weight imbalances, chronic fatigue, chronic sinusitis, insomnia, skin eruptions and more. In treating these conditions holistically, we also offer additional health therapies such as Frequency Specific Microcurrent therapy and Low Dose Immunotherapy and Allergen Therapy.

If you are curious about Newbridge, new to integrative medicine, or seeking extra support / more information about potential treatments, we also offer educational classes, support groups, and Q&A groups to help foster support and healing for individuals and families working towards optimal health.

Dolan, MD
Cathy
612-730-2237

Catherine joined Newbridge in 2014, after working at Riverside Family Physicians for 21 years and Fairview Clinic Riverside for 4 years. She works to understand the “why” behind the symptoms and addresses the underlying problems. She finds it interesting, challenging, and gratifying to support healing in this way.

Catherine recognizes that good health depends on one’s physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well being. Through her practice, she discusses and supports each area to bring her patients full health and healing. Her special areas of interest include deeply listening to each person’s story, mental health challenges–especially depression and anxiety, and gut health.

Dr. Dolan’s educational background includes a BS in Chemistry from Mundelein College in Chicago, MD from University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, family Practice residency at the University of Minnesota- Fairview-St Mary’s, and then she became Board certified in Family Medicine. So much more learning came from listening to and learning from patients over the years, working with many excellent colleagues, and regular conferences on Holistic/Integrative Medicine. She is a member of the Minnesota Holistic Medical Group, the ILADS (International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society) and the Institute for Functional Medicine.

In addition to work, she enjoys time with her husband, children and grandchildren, extended family and friends. She practices mindfulness and deepening her spiritual life, yoga, gardening and is especially enjoying her first season tickets to watch the Minnesota Gophers Women Basketball team!
