  • You can use the ‘SORT’ options under the categories of providers to sort the listings alphabetically within each category.

Important Note: Neither the Minnesota Holistic Medicine Group, its members, those listing their services on this site, nor its webmaster endorses, supports or otherwise offers any guarantee of accuracy, effectiveness, or any claims made by the providers listed here. Providers may have themselves listed in the directory without any of their information being verified, approved, or otherwise reviewed. Licensed Massage Therapist in Saint Paul with 30+ years of experience -- specializing in CranioSacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, and somatic processing of emotion difficulties / trauma

I have more than 30 years of experience as a bodywork therapist. The focus of my practice is to apply the methods of CranioSacral Therapy and Myofascial Release to gently resolve structural problems that cause discomfort and/or restrictions in function for my clients. When emotional difficulties arise, I assist clients to develop their awareness of the bodily sensations that always arise with any thought, emotion, or memory. Using sensate awareness provides a source of new information in addition to being a way to prevent overwhelm. For this somatic processing, I trained in the techniques of Hakomi Somatics (now called Sensorimotor Psychotherpy).

I do hypnotherapy to help people discover and release limiting thoughts, feelings and beliefs from the cellular memory of the body and the subconscious mind, while simultaneously helping them feel and experience the peace, wisdom and clarity of their higher self.

Clinical Practices: My master’s degree is in Marriage and Family Therapy and for the past 15 years I have been in private practice using hypnotherapy to release and heal limiting feelings and beliefs by connecting clients to their own higher guidance. I use the modalities of present life regression therapy, past life regression therapy and life-between-lives spiritual regression hypnotherapy. Clients arrive feeling stuck in anxiety, shame, depression, or any limiting feeling or belief, and typically leave feeling much freer, and able to experience who they really are with more clarity. I help people with chronic pain learn new ways to manage their pain, overcome traumatic experiences, and create lives they want to live. I use clinical hypnosis, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, and Prolonged Exposure therapy as tools to help people move past pain and trauma. I practice in my office in St. Paul, MN, and I also offer online counseling via direct video conferencing throughout Minnesota.

Most of the people I see in psychotherapy have chronic pain and have experienced trauma. Sometimes the trauma is the direct physiological source of the pain, such as in the case of a car accident or physical abuse. Other times the trauma involves a pattern of chronic stress, such as a difficult childhood or abusive relationship, and the connection between the trauma and the pain is less straightforward. In both situations, addressing what has happened and working to process those trauma memories can help to reduce anxiety, stress, other trauma-related symptoms, as well as physical pain. By addressing trauma in the context of chronic pain, people are able to access their internal healing resources, resolve emotional barriers to wellness, and learn alternative pain management techniques to get back to their lives.

I am passionate about using evidence-based psychotherapy to help people treat the often-overlooked emotional side of their pain and get back to the lives they want to live. I graduated from The College of St. Catherine/University of St. Thomas School of Social Work in 2009 with my Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW). I have a Masters of Arts degree in Germanic Languages and Literatures from Yale University, and I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Grinnell College majoring in German with a concentration in Linguistics. I am a Diplomate of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy, a certified Prolonged Exposure Therapist, have completed EMDRIA-approved training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, and I have completed over 70 hours of training and supervision in clinical hypnosis. You can find more information about me and my practice at erinbdlicsw.com. I would love to hear from you and talk more about how we can work together to help you feel better.

WholeSelf support for your health and well-being challenges.

As a health coach, when I meet with a client, I see a whole person who possesses the inner resources necessary to shift themselves into their optimal healing state. My role as a coach is to assist and support them as they mobilize internal and external resources and take productive steps toward reaching this state. This typically involves discovering what this healing state means for the client, envisioning and exploring this healing state, and planning and taking next steps toward reaching this state. The client role is not to take orders from me or do what I tell them. The client’s role is to actively reach into themselves and, with their coach at their side, co-create and own their unique transformation process.
I hold a Masters Degree in Integrative Health and Wellbeing Coaching from the University of Minnesota's Earl E. Bakken Center for Spirituality and Healing and am certified by the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching. I have training in Ayurvedic approaches to health and well being, and hold a level two certification as a Reiki healing practitioner.
I work with both individuals and groups both in-person and online. I am available for workshops and presentations on a range of well-being topics from creativity and healing, to self-care strategies, to Ayurvedic approaches to well-being.

Jesse Haas is co-founder of Wellness Minneapolis, a functional nutritionist and health coach who thrives at making deep connections with her clients. With Western sciences in the backdrop of her education and training, her services are heart-centered and deeply intuitive. She combines nutritional counseling and whole foods education to help her clients transform their health in small, sustainable ways. Jesse truly believes in "teaching a (wo)man to fish" so focuses on empowering each client with the knowledge, skills and focus they need to fully hold the reins on their health.

Jesse's approach to nutrition is a moderate and compassionate one, grounded in scientific evidence and with a holistic (mind, body, spirit) perspective. In her office, success is about showing up - not the size of your jeans or the number on the scale. And good health is about striking a balance without cutting out all of the foods that bring you pleasure. Though she'll dig into the scientific literature to guide our work together, this is a collaborative effort and you're the expert on your body. Cultivating wellness does not have to be all or nothing or "perfect." It's about starting where you are, doing the work and enjoying the process. Jesse excels at breaking the science of nutrition into bite-sized pieces. She welcomes all to her practice, wanting to share her food love with everyone regardless of race, ethnicity, religious beliefs, size, shape or any other qualifier used to divide us.

My clients are busy men and women who have tried many diets, but haven't experienced long-term, sustainable weight loss. They are people who believe in eating whole foods and are open to making changes in their lives so that they may live with more joy and freedom.

For over 10 years, I have supported people who have an understanding of what foods are good for them, but they don't apply this knowledge on a regular basis. Sadly, they feel shameful for knowing what to eat to be healthy, but not able to consistently apply their knowledge. My clients don't lack willpower, they lack an ability to handle their intense lives and uncomfortable emotions. Most people eat processed foods to numb their feelings (whether they consciously realize this or not). Emotional eating is a symptom, it's not the root cause. Holistic nutrition therapy offers you the emotional support you need to discover and heal the reasons you reach for low-quality food. I believe that whole foods from nature are medicine for the body and that there is no perfect way of eating. Learn more, read testimonials and book a free, 60-minute nutrition consultation online at maggiechristopher.com. I look forward to meeting you!

Rachel is passionate about living and teaching healthy lifestyle, prevention, and healing to all ages. Like many, she came to functional medicine and nutrition through personal health issues. Rachel sees patients with a wide variety of diagnoses and conditions, many of which are complex chronic illnesses. See Rachel for: basic diet/nutrition review, Autism/ADHD, PANDAS/PANS, picky eating, Lyme disease, memory loss, digestive issues, autoimmune conditions, weight loss, GI (UC, Crohn’s, IBS, SIBO), overweight/obesity, food sensitivities, mold illness, anxiety, depression, fibromyalgia, migraine, hormones, eczema, asthma, allergies, skin issues, pre/post natal nutrition, and more. Rachel went through conventional dietetics training at Kansas State University and then pursued functional nutrition training to further understand the “why” behind dysfunctions, which helps her address them.

She has an in-depth familiarity with therapeutic diets and food chemicals including: GAPS, SCD, ketogenic, Paleo/Primal, AIP, GFCFSF, vegan/vegetarian, Mediterranean, low FODMAP, candida/mold, oxalates, histamine, salicylates - and can offer practical ways to implement them. Rachel is a Certified LEAP Therapist (CLT) and has completed comprehensive training developed by a team of dietitians, physicians, immunologists, and medical business professionals with more than 100 years combined experience in treating food sensitivity related conditions. Rachel has also received extensive training in adverse food reactions, and practical application of dietary treatment for food-sensitive patients. Since introducing delayed-type food hypersensitivity testing and therapy into her private practice, she has seen first-hand how the proper identification of food and chemical triggers, followed by the implementation of a proven, customized LEAP (Lifestyle Eating and Performance) protocol can help patients reduce inflammation and recover their health.

She can also help with meal planning, recipes, picky eating tips and cooking tips. Rachel also offers a Nutrition Q&A class monthly.

Sarah believes in personalized healthcare that treats the individual, not the disease. She began her journey into alternative medicine after working many years in hospitals and clinics and witnessing how compassion and caring had been lost in health care. The body is intelligent and has an inherent ability to heal if one can determine the root cause of disease and correct imbalances. Sarah combines functional medicine diagnostics with effective natural therapies to restore the body’s innate ability to heal. She brings hope and presence to support you on your healing journey.

Sarah’s own struggles with digestive disorders led her down her own path of healing and wellness. After seeing multiple traditional medical practitioners with no answers or relief of symptoms, Sarah began her own search for healing. With functional medicine diagnostics and treatments, Sarah was able to determine the root cause of her symptoms and finally found relief from chronic pain. Through this experience, she learned the essence of true health care. Sarah has a passion for learning and searching for the source of her clients' health challenges.

My practice is based out of the People's Movement Center as well as my home office. I practice under a healing justice framework. As someone with white settler ancestry & who identifies as a non-binary, queer, chronically ill witch, this means uplifting femmes, queer & trans folks, black folks, indigenous folks, people of color, and folks with disabilities as healers, as well as to center these communities in my practice. I strive to bring my highest self to my work & I meet my clients where they are at: respecting their decisions, honoring their intuition, & working to co-create a container for them to see themselves as the powerful healers & magic-makers they are. I strive to bring an ethic of communal care to my practice, recognizing that we cannot "self care" our traumas away, & that we do not survive alone. I have 13 years of experience of working with survivors of sexual and domestic violence as an advocate, trainer, and program coordinator. During those same 13 years I have also been a reproductive justice organizer.

In December of 2018 I will graduate from the University of Minnesota School of Nursing's Master of Nursing Program as a Registered Nurse, after 3 years of prerequisites, graduate school coursework, and clinicals.

I offer my services in person as well as through phone or Skype.

When people come to Saumya Ayurveda, the two most common questions they ask are: “What is Ayurveda?” and “How can Ayurveda help me?”

“Ayurveda” is the ancient science of harmonious living and longevity. It is a practical, common-sense way to bring health and vitality to the body and a state of balance and wellbeing to the mind. These changes come through the use of nutritious foods, herbs, oils and changes in one’s lifestyle. The 5,000-year-old holistic, indigenous medical system of Ayurveda treats the whole person by focusing on healing at the root cause of disease or imbalances.

But what about the continuing day-to-day discomforts that we all experience – painful symptoms for which there seems to be no relief and no answer? – or some remedy works for a while and then stops working? We go to several doctors, but to no avail. Sound familiar?

From an Ayurvedic perspective, these symptoms are likely related to one root cause, which is an imbalance in one or more of the three doshas, or bodily humors – Vata, Pitta and Kapha.

How can Ayurveda help me? From Acne to Zoster and everything in between, Ayurveda provides a support. Common imbalances include: anxiety, constipation, digestion, depression, fatigue, GERD, hair loss, high cholesterol, hyper/hypo blood pressure, joint pain, fertility, inflammation, insomnia, IBS, menopausal transition, PMS, sleep, stress, thyroid and adrenal, and more.

If you’d like to feel better, if you want to learn how you can take charge of your health and well-being, contact Veena at Saumya Ayurveda. She will look at you as a whole person, an entire multifaceted personality consisting of mind, body and spirit – not as a set of symptoms. Through careful listening, your concerns, and goals will be understood and addressed at the source, and then you will be provided with tools to bring health and vitality into your life.

To your health and peace,
Veena Haasl-Blilie, MA, CAP, CAE, Certified Yoga Meditation Teacher

“My intention is to support you in moving forward at your comfortable pace, to integrate your Saumya Ayurveda plan into your daily life.” – Veena

Testimonial
“As a physician, I have always believed ‘Prevention is better than cure.’ In an era of spiraling health care costs, it was an eye-opener to learn, during meditation, that all the diseases start in the mind. I am very hopeful, that by using the body as a tool to train the mind that I can influence my health and destiny. Ayurveda is the logical and natural solution. I started working with Veena at a time when I was at the end of my tether, juggling my professional and personal aspirations. She responded to my desperate call and went out of her way to find ways to work things into with my busy schedule.

For the initial treatment, to pull me back from the brink, I was treated with Veena’s oils, teas and herbs. I took to all these products like a fish to the water. I could feel myself turn the corner and all my symptoms of fatigue, sleeplessness, joint aches and incessant worry of gaining weight improved immediately. I lost weight without even lifting my little finger.

I was encouraged to pursue a steady approach to create lasting changes. Now when I see my patients, I see so many suffering from similar symptoms related to diet and stress. I see so much need for our whole society to incorporate Ayurveda in their lives. I have routed several of my patients to Saumya-Ayurveda. It is a blessing to have such a rich resource.

I am eternally grateful to Veena at Saumya Ayurveda for anchoring me to my present state of health and peacefulness and for helping me to embark on a path towards the balance we all are striving for. Thank you so much.” — Gauri Nagargoje, M.D.

“Ayurveda” is the ancient science of harmonious living and longevity. It is a practical, common-sense way to bring health and vitality to the body, and a state of balance and wellbeing to the mind. These changes are brought about through the use of nutritious foods, herbs, oils and changes in one’s lifestyle. “Saumya” is the feeling that one experiences in the presence of the full moon–expansive, luminous, gentle and peaceful.

I founded the Snoring and Sleep Apnea Dental Treatment Center in 1992.
Since that time my knowledgeable and caring team and I have been helping patients with snoring and sleep apnea problems. We work closely with the sleep medicine physicians to coordinate your care and improve your sleep and your health. We utilize oral appliance therapy to manage snoring and sleep apnea for patients who are not good candidates or cannot tolerate CPAP. We are one of the few full-time dental sleep medicine practices in the country. Since we have extensive experience in this therapy, we are able to customize the therapy to increase successful results for patients.
We believe our first responsibility is to inform and educate our patients. We review the evaluation findings and explain the risks, benefits, and reasonable expectations of the different treatment options with each patient. We guide patients in deciding which oral appliance will be most effective and comfortable for their situation. Then we work closely with them in follow-up visits to ensure the comfort and effectiveness of their treatment. This comprehensive approach is important to achieving a successful treatment outcome.

What is BreathWork?

BreathWork is a simple, yet powerful process that consistently generates profound physical, emotional & mental self-healing & deepens your connection with Spirit. It is one of the most powerful self-healing modalities on the planet.

In a breath session you activate a high vibrational energy that raises and alters low vibrational energy patterns that are stuck in your electromagnetic field. Breath activates the body's natural healing abilities. As you open up and release your restrictive breathing patterns you will move toward optimal health and wellbeing.

BreathWork can help you to relieve stress, detox your body, increase your energy & vitality, release suppressed/repressed emotions & traumas, clear your mind, and bring more joy and happiness into your life.

"Breathe Fully to Live Fully!"

I am a Licensed, Registered Dietitian (RD, LD) and a Certified LEAP Therapist (CLT). Functional medicine and integrative nutrition approaches for chronic health problems are at the core of my practice. I have a passion for promoting whole foods nutrition, home cooking skills, effective use of supplements, and helping my clients feel better, fast and naturally! I received my MS in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine from the University of Western States in Portland, OR.
My ideal clients are those suffering from digestive problems, fibromyalgia, migraines, autoimmune disorders, fatigue, polycyctic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), fertility concerns, insulin resistance, diabetes, and other chronic, frustrating conditions that get in the way of vitality. Working together, I help my clients to learn about their personal nutrient needs, identify adverse food reactions or barriers to healing, and implement nutrition plans to revive health and well being.
My approaches are rooted in core values of building intuitive and mindful eating practices, with the goal of restoring your sense of wholeness and self within your body.

I am an NTP ( Nutritional Therapy Practitioner). I am a nutrition 101 expert! I work with individuals to upgrade their diets by making food and lifestyle changes. I like teaching people how to batch cook, navigate the grocery store and understand how to shop for the best, fresh foods that will have the most impact on resolving health issues. I enjoy pantry clean outs and reviewing food journals to help people understand how food changes can have profound effects on the body and dramatically improve health issues. I enjoy working with people in their homes teaching them how to cook and meal prep, discussing stress management, the importance of sunshine and fresh air as well as whole food diets. I teach a dynamic class called RESTART® which is a 5 week class that is part education, part elimination diet and part community support. This class is offered on an as needed basis in people's home, work place, churches, chiro offices etc. Resources and food samples shared at every class.

My interest in nutrition grew over the last few years because of my own health challenges and those of my children. Seeking treatment from many conventional doctors left me frustrated and feeling hopeless with some of our health issues. Finding the NTA and pursuing functional nutrition has been life changing.

As an NTP, I work to restore balance and function in the body. All great health begins with digestion. Digestion is a north to south process. Helping people understand the workings of digestion sets them up for good health, as so many issues are resolved once digestion is fine tuned. I evaluate your nutritional needs and make dietary and lifestyle recommendations. I do not prescribe, treat or cure disease.

Working with mid life women who are looking to regain and capture their vitality is my jam! I appreciate helping those with type 2 diabetes, blood sugar issues, weight loss and digestive distress.

I offer a free 20 minute consultation to discuss your needs. I work via Skype and in person. I look forward to serving you.
